Passing of a family loved one

In a year full of such immense loss it seems silly to be completely devastated over a dog…but here we are, shattered by the passing of our sweet boy.

I wrote this for Major because he deserves it. And because I needed to put into words what he meant to us. I hope everyone gets to experience a dog like this at least once. We sure got lucky🤍

Major Schultheis, 8 years old of Parkersburg, passed away peacefully on February 10th, surrounded in unconditional love by his favorite humans. He bravely battled for his life multiple times over the past 2 years, but never lost his dignity or unbridled joy for living.

Major’s favorite activities included watching Animal Planet, morning face rubs, digging to China, playing in the snow, taking his dad for walks and guilting mom into endless paw rubs and brushings. He loved laying in the shade or anywhere cold, being a hardworking office dog, hiding in his bush, and playing with cell phones.
Major is survived by his parents, Kirk and Anna, who gave him a home and family filled with more love than his big heart could handle. His human siblings, Jake, Paige, and Allie, who doted on and spoiled him rotten. His fursibling and protector, Leesie, and his two best friends, Bear and June. He spent the last 3 months joyously teaching his new little brother, Willie, how to be the goodest boy in the family. Their pack will be lost without him. He was preceded in death by Chaz, his first best friend, big brother, and teacher of all things dog. We find peace knowing they’re together again.

Major had a magnetic personality, drawing you in with those soulful brown eyes and dopey grin. His greatest joy in life was loving others. Even in the end, when everything must have been so hard for him, all Major cared about was bringing comfort to his people.

Our world will be a little less without him; less bright, less sweet, less full. We’ve always called him our precious white angel. And now he is. Always🤍

We’ll love you forever big guy. Thank you all for bringing him so much joy whenever you came to visit HIM in the office and loving him as much as we did.
